I’m an adult with adult money. I do what I want.

Skye

Those of you who have seen Outlander have no doubt been humming “Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,” since you saw the title. I don’t think Claire ever makes it to Skye, which is a shame because it’s a beautiful part of Scotland that shouldn’t be missed!

Bala Cranberry Festival

In a little town, about two hours north of Toronto, you’ll find this wonderful festival. It’s the best place to find anything cranberry or Muskoka and Northern Ontario themed anything. From necklaces, winter accessories, toys and accessories for dogs and cats, preserved foods and cheeses, and fudge, you’ll find it here!

Canterbury Cathedral

First of all let me say that while there are tours which will take you to the cathedral from London along with a few other stops, you can totally do it yourself. Canterbury can be a super easy day trip for anyone who wants to get their feet wet in solo travel, or at least less reliant on tours.

It’s the seat of power for the church of England, the location of royal coronations and weddings alike, and the burial place of many a famous writer and scientists. Across the river from the London Eye, across the street from the Parliament Building and Big Ben, and best of all shockingly easy to get to. If you’re going to London, Westminster Abbey should definitely be on your list.

The Grotta Azzurra

The cave was once used as a temple, and it’s easy to see why. The light shines on the ceiling of the cavern, illuminating it with moving ribbons of blue light.

Craig Phadrig

Found way up in the highlands of Scotland, Craig Phadrig is hidden in the northern outskirts of Inverness, and it’s hidden exceedingly well.

The Hill of Tara

The Hill of Tara; it’s much more than a bunch of mounds on a hillock. It’s the seat of Ancient Ireland’s power, and the coronation place of her kings.

Lake Louise

Lake Louise! Come have a peek at what is probably Canada’s most recognisable lake, and learn just why it’s so beloved.
