Not all those who wander are lost, but I certainly am!
If you’ve read or seen Outlander, or have a friend or family member who has, you’ll have heard of Culloden. It took place in 1746, and in grand fashion Claire begs Jaime not to go. Being from the 1940s, she alone knows the outcome. It’s a bold assumtion, especially considering the odds were blatantly stacked against the Highlander army.
When I go to a country whose official language isn’t English or French I always try to learn at least a few basic words. Please, thank you, help, hospital, and toilet are the very least anyone can learn when out exploring the world. To help me learn I use a few apps. Here are iTunes’ top ranked language learning apps, and my opinion of them as a language learner and world traveler.
I know that for every different person there is a different way to travel, and different opinions about how it must be done. There do seem to be some pervasive themes which I have encountered time and time again and I just don’t understand where these opinions came from or how they perpetuated.
