Père Lachaise Cemetery
This is probably the most famous cemetery I’ve ever heard of that isn’t a war memorial. It’s the final resting place of some very famous people and thus draws in an incredible amount of tourists for a cemetery. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re planning to be in Paris!
Tonbridge Castle
My least favourite castle, but not because it’s terrible to visit. It’s a lovely little town! It’s just that the castle is in a valley. Pro tip; don’t build your castle in a valley.
Sweeps
I don’t know why more people don’t celebrate Sweeps. As far as I can tell Rochester is the only place which does celebrate Sweeps and honestly it ought to be a world wide event, though it might be best for each place to pick separate days.

Althorp Estate
Unless you follow the lives of the royals, you’ll likely not remember Althorp Estate, although you’ll undoubtedly have heard of it; it’s the childhood home of Princess Diana.

I love castles. Adore them. I love to run around seeing what pieces of history I can find, small and large, and imagining what they must have been like for the people who inhabited them. The only thing better than a good trip is a good book to take along with you. While I do like re-reading books I also love new ones. I’ve let a randomizer choose my destination, done a bit of research, and chosen some books which I have yet to read that I think would suit the vacation. Let’s go!
Old Pompeii: The Dream
Old Pompeii: the city covered in ash by Vesuvius. This is the closest I believe I will ever come to time travel, and it’s well worth the visit to be able to see how ones’ ancestors lived.
